Turf is used to describe sports grass, which is shorter. Artificial grass is the officially correct term for landscape grass, which is longer and fluffier. Back when AstroTurf was first invented we didn't make distinctions like this, because there was just one product. And, frankly, not a very good one at that.

Nylon is the more durable (and more expensive) of the two. For the most part, the best putting green turf products will have nylon fibers. Polypropylene more closely approximates the look and feel of real grass, though it's more prone to matting and ruts than nylon is.

Celebrity Greens synthetic turf uses polyethylene fibers that produce significantly less friction between the playing surface and players' skin compared to both natural grass and older versions of synthetic turf, reducing the likelihood of abrasions or friction-based injuries.
